Peterborough United co-owner Darragh MacAnthony has offered to buy Jack Marriott back off Derby County.

Marriott moved from Posh to Derby last summer for a fee of £3 million, according to Derbyshire Live.

The striker made a brilliant start to life at Pride Park, but he has struggled for game time more recently.

Even with Martyn Waghorn missing the first leg of Derby’s play off tie, Frank Lampard decided to pick Dave Nugent ahead of Marriott.

There have been suggestions that Marriott may not be trying hard enough in Derby training to merit a first-team place.

But MacAnthony has suggested that Posh would have Marriott back in a heartbeat, if Derby were open to doing a deal.

Marriott has scored 10 goals across all competitions for Derby this term.

The 24-year-old forward could be in action again for the Rams on Wednesday, when they take on Leeds United in the second leg of their play off clash.
