The stakes have been raised for Liverpool's Champions League final against Tottenham after the Reds missed out on the Premier League title.

Liverpool have had a tremendous season, and are desperate to avoid finishing trophyless.

Jurgen Klopp's side narrowly missed out on winning the Premier League title on Sunday.

They held up their end, beating Wolves, before Manchester City came from behind to beat Brighton and clinch the trophy.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was asked about Liverpool missing out on the league in his post-match press conference, after their draw with Everton.

He told Football London: "They will be disappointed now but they made an amazing, amazing season and for sure a little bit unlucky because of the points they got.

"In other circumstances they would have won the Premier League. They have an unbelievable squad and an unbelievable manager in Klopp.

"Today they feel disappointed for sure but tomorrow, like us, they start to think about the final."
