Leeds United fans want Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish banned for the rest of the play offs, after he won his side a cheap penalty against West Bromwich Albion.
Villa beat West Brom 2-1 at Villa Park on Saturday, with many Leeds fans watching on.
The claret and blues came from behind to get the victory, but the game was not without its controversy.
Grealish went down very easily in the box to earn Villa and penalty after a lunging tackle from West Brom defender Mason Holgate.
And Leeds fans feel that Grealish should now be retrospectively punished.
Hey @EFL, a #lufc player got a ban after the game against villa for decieving the referee- will Grealish get the same for the dive today, or is it different because he plays for #villa— Paul Murphy (@Meefee) May 11, 2019
Asking for a friend.
Absolutely agree with every word, he goes on to the field looking for fouls... thinks it's clever but what a shocking waste of talent...— In Bielsa We Trust (@LaceyJohn19) May 12, 2019
Just watched the highlights of the Villa West Brom match. No contact on Grealish for the penalty. Plenty of contact for the one West Brom were denied. Quelle surprise.— Gavin (@DoctorLeeds) May 12, 2019
Grealish should also be out right? Clear dive for the pen should equal a 2 match ban for successful deception?— Phil Braithwaite (@PhilLUFC) May 12, 2019
If Leeds supporters do get their wish then Grealish would be ruled out for the rest of the play offs.
That could be a major boost to Leeds, if they were to get to the play off final.
Leeds beat Derby County 1-0 in the first leg of their play off semi final, to edge closer to Wembley.
