Days Gone hasn’t received the gushing reviews you’d expect from a PlayStation 4 exclusive, but the Sons Of Anarchy x World War Z crossover is undeniably a success as it has already surpassed the lifetime Japanese sales of God Of War and some of its other first-party brethren.
The most common complaints have been about Days Gone’s technical shortcomings and Deacon’s uncriticised behaviour.
However, although it’s not a flawless experience, it’s a solid foundation for a studio and series that could go on to do great things.
And, as if there was any doubt, Bend Studio will almost definitely be given the opportunity to iron out the kinks with a sequel.

Days Gone already has more lifetime sales than God Of War in Japan
MCV already revealed that Days Gone was the best-selling game in April as well as the year’s biggest launch, but now it has become apparent that Bend Studio’s biggest project to date has outsold some of its first-party Sony brethren in Japan.
Per gaming insider Benji-Sales (via Press Start), Days Gone “was the best-selling game in Japan in its second week on sale.”
In only 2 weeks on the market, Days Gone has already surpassed the lifetime sales of Detroit: Become Human, The Last Guardian, and God Of War.

And if that wasn’t impressive enough, it’s also on track to beat Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
With Sony having already said they want Bend Studio’s latest title to become a franchise, a bright future for Days Gone now seems guaranteed.
