Liverpool got better of Wolves 2-0 at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The result, though, was not enough for the Reds to clinch the league title, as Manchester City won 4-1 against Brighton and Hove Albion away from home - also on Sunday afternoon.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have finished a point behind champions City in second place, and former Liverpool striker Aldridge has taken to Twitter to give his reaction.
The former Republic of Ireland striker is confident that the current Liverpool team will be successful, and he has also criticised the Wolves fans for their chants at Anfield.
Easy win again!didnt have to get out of 2nd gear!Wolves fans embarrassing didn’t sing about their team throughput just the MIGHTY REDSthis team is here to stay for a while folksjust a small matter of hopefully getting 6 yes 6 European cups— John Aldridge (@Realaldo474) May 12, 2019
Champions League hopes
Liverpool’s season is not over yet, as the Reds have the Champions League final to look forward to.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will take on Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the final in Madrid on June 1.
Liverpool will head into the match with confidence, with the Reds having also played in the Champions League final last season.
