Onana has been repeatedly linked with a move to Tottenahm Hotspur this season.
The Ajax goalkeeper was beaten three times by Tottenham's Lucas Moura as Spurs recovered from a 3-0 aggregate deficit to progress on away goals.
The last of Moura's strikes arrived in the sixth minute of five added on, just seconds after Onana was booked for wasting time.
And if it wasn't for the Cameroonian's delaying tactics, some Tottenham fans believe they'd be out of the Champions Lague.
Sorry to say but karma is a real bitch, isn't it. All that time wasting in both games has come back to bite you. COYS— Simon Jacobs (@sjake62) 9 May 2019
@AndreyOnana cheers for wasting time to help spurs score it means a lot.— Gary Clark (@Clark06Gary) 9 May 2019
Love how we scored a minute after added time was supposed to end because Onana started time wasting— marvin bagley stan (@THFCBailey) 8 May 2019
I’d personally like to thank Onana for that wonderful time wasting, without you my friend all of this could not be possible.— Skinner (@skinsTHFC) 9 May 2019
Watching it back last night big shout out to ajax keeper onana for time wasting without that we would have never had that last opportunity to score. So thank you Andre!! #COYS— Rob Milburn (@milburn138) 9 May 2019
Onana booked for timewasting in the 95th, and the ref consequently added a little time. And literally a second after the final whistle might otherwise have sounded, we score the winner. I hate keepers timewasting, but rarely do you see payback, and never that swiftly! #COYS pic.twitter.com/ctAAxyKI4z— Leon Hayes (@lnhys) 8 May 2019
That said, others of a Spurs persuasion appear to have taken a shine to Onana - who has been repeatedly linked with a move to White Hart Lane this season, with De Telegraaf reporting as recently as March that both Mauricio Pochettino's team and West Ham United have expressed an interest in signing the 23-year-old.
lazylad @lazylad50: Postgame Notes:
We did the impossible - absolute heart by this squad to pull through
So many chances - need to put them away if we wanna win the finals
Lucas ******* Moura
De Ligt and Onana were phenomenal - as were Ajax for the majority of the semi-finals
There’s a good bunch I would take from Ajax:— Ethan (@EthanCOYS) 9 May 2019
• de Ligt
• de Beek
Can’t beat them, join them?
Definitely onana hes outstanding better than lloris already— Richard Conte (@ricospur) 9 May 2019
@AndreyOnana As a Spurs fan got to say you and team should be very proud of getting to semi final..a bright future for you. Good luck with winning the league— Jonny Edwards (@JonnyEd28022104) 8 May 2019
Meanwhile, Onana's opposite number, Hugo Lloris, who has suffered heavy criticism this season, performed admirably to keep Tottenham involved at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
Would you take Onana at Tottenham?
