Celtic defender Emilio Izaguirre has revealed that the club has enquired about players from his homeland and Alberth Elis has been a player of interest.

In an interview with the Scottish Sun, Emilio Izaguirre has said Celtic are interested in Houston Dynamos’ 23-year old striker Alberth Elis.
The defender has claimed that the Hoops have asked him about his international teammate several times and he hopes that they will sign players of Honduran descent in the future.
Celtic clinched their eighth consecutive league title last weekend after a brilliant 3-0 victory against Aberdeen on Sunday. Another league title next season will match their historic record of nine straight league wins in Jock Stein’s era and to do so, they will have to further strengthen their squad.
Odsonne Edouard has been their top scorer this season with 14 goals in the league but the Hoops will lose Timothy Weah once his loan deal from PSG ends in the summer.
A new striker should be a priority for Neil Lennon in the upcoming transfer window and Alberth Elis could be an exceptional addition.

The 23-year-old has been in fine form for the Dynamos this season, having scored four goals and assisted another five in eight appearances so far. Elis, despite naturally being a striker, has been used on the right wing which will be an added bonus for the Hoops next season if they manage to sign him.
Tall, strong and fairly quick with the fantastic ability to score with both feet as well as with his head, Elis has all the traits in him to be a top striker in the coming years and Celtic shouldn’t think twice about making a move for him in the summer.
