After beating Sheffield United to the Championship title last week, Norwich City are set to go head-to-head with the Blades again – this time to sign international right-back Luis Advincula, according to El Bocon.
The 29-year-old Peruvian is looking to remain in Europe this summer and is in need of a new club after Rayo Vallecano, who Advincula played for on loan throughout 2018/19, were relegated from La Liga at the weekend.
The experienced defender is owned by Mexican outfit Tigres UNAL and it seems that he could make the move to England for the first time in his nomadic career, having already plied his trade in Portugal, Turkey, Germany and Spain.
El Bocon claims that both Norwich and Sheffield United, who sealed their returns to the Premier League in the last two weeks, are both potential destinations for a player who has earned 75 caps for his country.
A solid and adventurous full-back, Advincula has enjoyed a long and storied career in the Peruvian national team, standing out as his nation finished third in the 2015 Copa America before impressing at the World Cup in Russia last year.
