Glasgow Rangers forward Joe Dodoo is heading back to Ibrox after spending the season out on loan.
A number of Blackpool fans have replied to Joe Dodoo’s tweet following the end of the Rangers forward’s loan spell – with many sending messages that perhaps hint that his season did not quite live up to its potential.
It surprised few when Dodoo was given the green light to leave Ibrox in the summer. He has been a peripheral figure for much of his spell at the Gers, and his move to Bloomfield Road felt as if it may be a last throw of the dice.
Had he returned having reached double figures for league goals or established himself as a key man, he may have been hopeful that Steven Gerrard may decide to review his situation upon his return.
The Rangers boss may still want to take a look at the former Leicester man. But the smart money would perhaps suggest that he will be one player that Gerrard will look to offload when the window opens.
Dodoo scored just two league goals and six in all competitions. He has also not played since mid-March and it has been more than two months since his last start.
Some Blackpool fans have expressed a disappointment that Dodoo is returning to Rangers after the 23-year-old posted a parting message on social media.
But several have suggested that he should have played more, while one fan even admitted to forgetting that they had the Gers forward on their books after his recent absence from the side.
Here is Dodoo’s message as well as some of the responses…
