Liverpool produced one of their greatest ever games in their history when they beat Barcelona on Tuesday night.

Alan Shearer has spoken in awe of Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Divock Origi after they helped their team produce one of the greatest nights in the club’s history.
Jurgen Klopp’s side overturned Barcelona’s three-goal deficit from the first leg by scoring four goals without any response from the Spanish club to book their place in the final.
Origi netted a brace, along with midfielder Gini Wijnaldum, who was only brought on as a half-time substitute for the injured Andrew Roberston.
Speaking to Radio 5 Live throughout the game (07/05/2019), former Newcastle United striker Shearer was impressed with Liverpool’s attacking duo as he claimed Barca ‘couldn’t handle’ Origi.
“Again, so good by Mane,” Shearer told BBC Radio 5 Live. “The hold-up play, the strength to hold Rakitic off, so if he has to foul him and get a yellow card. But he has been magnificent tonight.
“No surprise again that Mane is working his socks off. Tracking back to win that ball. Then trying to get into the final third. He really has been so impressive this evening, he has led from the front.
“Origi’s hold-up play, his finishing, he ran Barcelona ragged and they couldn’t handle him. He was superb.”

The most amazing thing about Liverpool’s performance is that it perhaps doesn’t surprise many people simply because they have a rich history of making epic comebacks in Europe.
Before the game, it was mentioned whether Klopp’s side could overturn Barca’s lead from the first leg and despite having two of their key players missing, they produced the goods on the night.
The likes of Origi, Trent Alexander-Arnold and James Milner, to name a few, stood out for the Merseyside club, who will be chasing their sixth European Cup next month – Ajax or fellow English side Tottenham Hotspur stand in their way.
