Arsenal are unlikely to displace Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League top four this season.

Emmanuel Frimpong has suggested on Twitter that none of the Arsenal players will get into the current Tottenham Hotspur starting lineup.

The former Arsenal midfielder made the comment on Twitter following the Gunners’ failure to win against Brighton and Hove Albion at the weekend.

The 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium in North London on Sunday means that Unai Emery’s side’s chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League are all but over.

Tottenham are virtually assured of a Champions League, and Arsenal are set to miss on a top-four finish yet again.

Frimpong has suggested on Twitter that none of the Arsenal players will get into the starting lineup of Tottenham - a remark which will embarrass those playing for the Gunners and make Spurs fans proud.

Europa League route?

Arsenal, though, can still play in the Champions League next season - if they win the Europa League this campaign.

The Premier League outfit won the first leg of their Europa League semi-final tie against Valencia 3-1 at home last week, and will take on Los Che in the second leg in Spain on Thursday evening.

Advice for Callum Wilson

Meanwhile, former Arsenal attacking midfielder Paul Merson has suggested that if Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson has the choice between Chelsea and Tottenham, then he should pick the London club.

The Express quotes Merson as saying about Wilson: “I’d be seriously looking at Chelsea before Tottenham, for him, because he will play at Chelsea. He would be the centre-forward [at Chelsea].

"He’s not going to play for Tottenham. He’d fizzle his career out just sitting around [if he joined Tottenham].”
