Leading up to its appearance at E3, CD Projekt RED has shared more details about their highly-anticipated title.
Next to “when will Cyberpunk 2077 be released,” one of the most common question fans have had is about the series’ timeline. Thankfully, the creator of Cyberpunk 2020 boardgame has clarified that the events of the video game take place in a “unified timeline”.

Cyberpunk 2077 – Tabletop creator confirms the series’ timeline
The creator of Cyberpunk 2020, Mike Pondsmith, took to Reddit to dispel rumours that Cyberpunk 2077 takes place in a different timeline.
“There’s still an incorrect interview floating around the interwebs that states that Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk 2020 are separate timelines,” Pondsmith posted.
“To clear this up, I am posting RIGHT HERE AND NOW that the timeline is unified, with the path moving from Cyberpunk 2013 thru Cyberpunk 2020, then through Cyberpunk RED and up to Cyberpunk 2077.”
Pondsmith ended his post by saying that fans should expect to hear “more on this later.”
In other Cyberpunk 2077 news, CD Projekt RED’s Quest Designer has said that there are “3 to 5” ways to complete quests within missions.
