The 27-year-old defender has been hugely impressive in the Italian top flight this season for a Sassuolo side who are sitting in tenth, well clear of the relegation zone with three fixtures remaining.
Ferrari has started 28 games, scoring four goals, with his excellent passing range and commanding style earning him plenty of admirers – including from Vicarage Road.
Speaking to EuropaCalcio, Ferrari’s representative Giovanni Bia has claimed that a number of teams are keen to bring him to the Premier League with Watford just one of those.
“He is a player who is followed very carefully. Sevilla, Porto, Valencia, and even some English clubs including Watford, there are many clubs that are calling me to get information about Gian Marco,” Bia said.
Should Ferrari move to Watford, he will link up with a side who have really impressed under Javi Gracia this season, flirting with a Europa League spot while reaching the FA Cup final.
Watford have enjoyed great success when recruiting from Italy, signing Roberto Perreyra and Miguel Angel Britos in recent seasons.
