Newcastle United allegedly want Benfica’s Rafa Silva this summer.

The agent of Benfica winger Rafa Silva has told Radio Renascenca in Portugal that Newcastle United want to sign his client.
Silva, 25, has excelled this season, hitting 19 goals and three assists for Benfica this season, enjoying the best scoring season of his career so far.
Formerly of Braga, Silva has notched 14 caps for Portugal too, and has played a key role in Benfica’s push for the league title this season.
Bruno Lage has led Benfica to the top of the table, two points ahead of bitter rivals Porto with just two games left to play.
Now, Silva’s agent Antonio Araujo has spoken to Radio Renascenca about his client’s situation, claiming that Newcastle want to lure him to the Premier League this summer.
Araujo added though that Silva is focusing on winning the league for now, adding that he thinks Silva will sign a new contract, but needs to see what Benfica offer him in terms of wages.

“[Newcastle] is one of the interested parties, they are one of the interested ones, now the main focus [of Rafa] is to be champion,” said Araujo. “Benfica knows what Rafa wants and I think it’s going to happen [renewal], because there’s a desire for the club and Rafa’s will. The player is well at Benfica, now he wants to see his salary situation go to what he really represents for Benfica,” he added.
Newcastle fans are desperate to see one Rafa at St James’ Park next season in Rafa Benitez, and he may well attempt to lure speedy and skilful Silva to Tyneside this summer.
