Jermain Defoe of Rangers
Defoe joined Rangers on an 18-month loan deal from Premier League club Bournemouth in the January transfer window.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United striker is a hugely experienced footballer, and the 36-year-old Englishman has praised Rangers duo Middleton and Mebude.
Defoe said on the SPFL Matters show on Sky Sports Football (6pm, May 3, 2019) when asked to name the youngster at Rangers who have impressed him: “Glenn’s impressed me, Dapo has impressed me.”
Middleton joined Rangers in January 2018 after leaving Norwich City, and the 19-year-old winger has been progressing well at Rangers.
