Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur may be bitter rivals, but they are regularly linked with the same targets ahead of transfer windows.

It may simply be agent talk much of the time, but a number of players over the years have been linked with both of the North London giants.

A host of left backs are bound to be linked with both clubs; Tottenham may not have been too impressed with Ben Davies and Danny Rose this season, whilst Sead Kolasinac has his defensive deficiencies with Arsenal.

One player touted for both clubs is Ajax's Nicolas Tagliafico, as The Sun claim that Spurs are interested in launching a £15million raid to try and beat Arsenal to his signature.

Tagliafico, 26, has notched five goals and six assists for Ajax this season, playing a key role in their run to the Champions League semi-finals – ironically against Tottenham.

Now a regular for Argentina on the international stage, Tagliafico is one of the hottest left backs in Europe right now, impressing with his pace, technique and attacking ability.

A move to the Premier League could have been huge for the left back, but he has now revealed on Twitter that he will be staying with Ajax next season.

“I want to tell you that I will stay for one more season,” said Tagliafico on Ajax's Twitter account. “Hopefully it will be a great year. Like it is this year,” he added.

Tagliafico's deal has been extended by 12 months and includes a commitment to play for Ajax next season, meaning Arsenal and Tottenham will have to look elsewhere.
