Tottenham Hotspur left Bournemouth empty-handed after conceding an injury time goal.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to Sky Sports reporters (May 4th, 14:56) after his side's 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League today, and shared what he told his players after the match.
Spurs played the final 40 minutes or so with just nine men, but they seemed destined to earn a hard-fought draw from the game, before conceding an injury time goal from a corner.
The north London outfit have been in poor from of late, and they have lost their last three games in all competitions.
Their season is in danger of imploding, and they now face the very real prospect of missing out on the top four.
Tottenham could also be dumped out of the Champions League on Wednesday night, and morale in the changing room must be pretty low.
Pochettino addressed the media after today's game, and shared what he told the Spurs players in the dressing room in the aftermath of their defeat to Bournemouth:
“We are third, we are competing for the top four. We are in the semi-final of the Champions League. I feel proud, and what happened today happened.”
The Tottenham players will have to pick themselves up quickly, with a game against Ajax on Wednesday night, and one thing's for certain, they will need to be on their very best form, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of making it through to the final.
