Villarreal’s La Liga starlet Samuel Chukwueze is reportedly a target for Premier League giants Liverpool – after a move to Arsenal fell through.

Villarreal starlet Samuel Chukwueze has hinted that he’d jump at the chance to sign for Liverpool this summer while admitting regrets over his aborted move to Arsenal, in an interview with Tribal Football.
The 19-year-old Nigerian has been a revelation in La Liga this season despite the Yellow Submarines’ ongoing battle against relegation, scoring 10 times in all competitions and ripping Barcelona to shreds in the last month’s thrilling 4-4 draw at the Estadio de la Ceramica.
The Mail report that Liverpool are interested in signing Chukwueze, who has been likened to Bayern Munich hero Arjen Robben for a tendency to cut inside and wreak havoc with his brilliant left foot.
And, speaking to Tribal Football, the teenager has hinted that he’s interested in a move to Anfield.
“Playing in England is still an ambition for me,” Chukwueze said.
“I need to keep on working hard and to keep improving. I really want to play in England. I think so.”
The winger will not come cheap thanks to a £54 million release clause in his contract. But he could have moved to England for just £4 million three years ago, All Nigeria Soccer reporting that Arsenal pulled out of a bargain deal due to disagreements over the structure of the payment.

“It was very close for me to sign for Arsenal, I almost had the contract in my hands,” Chukwueze adds.
“Unfortunately, it did not work out fine with my academy due to the side of agreement and payment. They did not agree with the terms of the contract.
“I was very happy thinking of signing and dreaming of playing for Arsenal but my academy did not allow it to happen. I kept on pushing and praying to get a club in Europe and it came with Villarreal.”
