Sheffield Wednesday defender Michael Hector has impressed at Hillsborough since joining on loan from Chelsea.

Hector joined Wednesday on loan from Chelsea at the start of the campaign, and the towering centre-back has enjoyed a wonderful year.
Hector won Sheffield Wednesday’s Player of the Year last night, and the 26-year-old now wants to extend his stay in Yorkshire.
He said: “I’ve enjoyed my time here at Sheffield. Hopefully something gets sorted.”
Hector appears to have little chance of making the grade at Chelsea, so Wednesday may well be able to sign him in the summer.
The stumbling block for Steve Bruce’s side comes with affording the fee Chelsea would want, as they are struggling to fit in with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Wednesday are expected to offload a number of players this summer to reduce the wage bill.
Bruce has confirmed that Wednesday are already in discussions with Chelsea over keeping Hector, so they are pushing hard to sign him.
The Owls have just one game remaining this season, against Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.
