Guillermo Maripan could reportedly leave La Liga for the Premier League this summer with Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham United eyeing defenders.

West Ham United have firmed up their interest in Alaves defender Guillermo Maripan as the summer transfer window edges closer, as reported by Football London.
The Hammers look keen to add depth to their back line this summer, perhaps due to Winston Reid’s ongoing injury problems and the unconvincing performances of Angelo Ogbonna in recent months.
And it seems that they have turned their attention to Maripan, a Chilean international who has impressed in La Liga since joining Deporivo Alaves in 2017. The defender has made 23 appearances this season for a side who still harbour ambitions of qualifying for the Europa League despite a difficult run of form in the last few weeks.
Tellingly, Alaves have failed to win any of the six games Maripan has missed through injury since March.

Football London now reports that West Ham have firmed up their interest with the 24-year-old apparently available for a bargain £10 million – far less than his £23 million release clause.
La Segunda reported earlier in 2019 that West Ham had made an £8.5 million bid for Maripan but it seems they could be just £1.5 million away from a deal.
