Arsenal and Liverpool both reportedly wanted to bring Thorgan Hazard to the Premier League from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach/

Thorgan Hazard has confirmed that he has agreed to join Borussia Dortmund this summer in quotes reported by Goal, delivering a blow to both Liverpool and Arsenal.

The Belgian international has stepped out of the shadow of big brother Eden in a fine season for Borussia Monchengladbach, producing 12 goals and 11 assists for the Bundesliga outfit in all competitions.

According to DH, Liverpool were hoping to reunite Thorgan with his older brother in England, having made a big-money offer for the one-time Chelsea youngster.

The Sun, meanwhile, claimed that Arsenal were also keeping tabs on Hazard Jr with head coach Unai Emery, who wants to sign a goalscoring winger this summer, apparently a ‘huge fan’ of the skilful 26-year-old.

Though it seems that Emery and Jurgen Klopp are both set to be disappointed.

“There are talks between Gladbach and Dortmund, yes,” Hazard told Goal.

“I have a personal agreement with Dortmund. It’s out of my hands. It’s up to the clubs now.”

It is not certain how much Dortmund will pay for Hazard, who is expected to replace Chelsea-bound Christian Pulisic at the Signal Iduna Park, though The Sun added that Gladbach were looking for around £35 million for their prized asset.

Liverpool and Arsenal must now look elsewhere.
