Aston Villa are one of four Championship sides interested in signing Angers striker Stephane Bahoken, according to a report from the Sunday Mirror (28/4; page 68), with Sheffield United, Derby County and Swansea City also keen on the 26-year-old.
Bahoken has enjoyed a very good season in Ligue 1, scoring 10 goals for Angers, who look set to register a mid-table finish this term. The Cameroon international has scored five goals in his last 10 appearances.
And his form is now attracting a lot of attention. The Sunday Mirror (28/4; page 68) reports that the Blades are looking to land the forward with promotion to the Premier League all but wrapped up following their 2-0 win against Ipswich Town.
But he may well have several other offers in front of him this summer. The report adds that the Villans, Rams and Swans all monitoring Bahoken.
The Sunday Mirror suggests that Dean Smith's side are set to lose Chelsea ace Tammy Abraham in the summer, and the former St Mirren loanee could be a potential replacement.
Villa and Derby could well join Chris Wilder's men in booking the one remaining spot in the top flight before the end of the campaign. Should either side end up winning the play-offs, it will be interesting to see if they remain keen on Bahoken, particularly as Villa may well end up having fresh hope over potentially keeping Abraham beyond this season.
