Southampton will play in the Premier League next season.
Chris Sutton has praised Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl on Twitter after the Saints secured their Premier League safety.
Southampton played out a 3-3 draw with Bournemouth at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The result means that the Saints are now 16th in the league table with 38 points from 36 matches.
Southampton are as many as seven points above the relegation zone, and third-from-bottom Cardiff City will not be able to catch them.
Former Chelsea and Celtic striker Sutton, who won the Premier League title with Blackburn Rovers in 1995, has praised Southampton manager Hasenhuttl on Twitter.
Remarkable job Ralph Hasenhuttl has done keeping Southampton up… he’s done it in style as he said he would …— Chris Sutton (@chris_sutton73) April 27, 2019
When Hasenhuttl was appointed the Southampton manager in December 2018, the team were in real danger of getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.
The Austrian has been superb for the Saints, who have played good football under him and have entertained the fans.
According to BBC Sport, Southampton have taken 29 points from 21 Premier League matches since Hasenhuttl took over.
