John Wick star Keanu Reeves is reportedly joining Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in Hobbs & Shaw.

Jason Statham, Idris Elba, Dwayne Johnson and Keanu Reeves? Fast and Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw continues to impress as its August 2, 2019 release date draws closer. The franchise has come along way since its high-octane street racing roots; now, it’s one of the most profitable series in all of cinema with (almost) as many entries as plot holes. Of course, this isn’t intended as a dig, considering the more escalated and ridiculous the action has become, the better the films have been.

Statham and Johnson’s Hobbs and Shaw had great chemistry in the recent instalments, so it was a no-brainer to unite them in their own solo adventure. The second trailer arrived just last week, teasing great humour, explosive set-pieces and an incredibly entertaining trip to the movies.

What it didn’t tease, on the other hand, was Keanu Reeves. ScreenRant highlights that a new report from That Hashtag Show suggests Reeves is set to appear; if so, it’s sure to be one fantastic reveal. At the moment though, no details surrounding his role have been offered. Honestly, it will be all the more exciting to see the great action star step out mysteriously from the shadows, with the audience immediately confronted with questions of his allegiances.

Hopefully, he secures some decent screentime, and if not we’re sure he’ll rear his head in subsequent sequels. It’s sure to be a busy Summer for Keanu Reeves, as we’re all eagerly anticipating the third instalment of his very own entrancing franchise: John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. The film will be released on May 17 and will see Mr. Wick confronted with faces new and old.

John Wick first arrived on screens in 2014 and audiences have been keen to keep him in cinemas ever since. Once Reeves’ new character appears in Hobbs & Shaw, we expect audiences will demand the same. Yeah, we’re thinking he’s back.
