Sunderland boss Jack Ross was linked with Marcus Maddison last summer.

Sunderland fans have urged Peterborough United’s Marcus Maddison to sign for them, after his latest tweet.
Maddison played for Posh against Sunderland yesterday, as the two sides played out a 1-1 draw.
The Peterborough attacker caused Sunderland’s defence some problems, but he aggravated the travelling supporters when he went down easily under a challenge from Bryan Oviedo.
Maddison was booked for simulation and then roundly booed by the Sunderland supporters in attendance at London Road.
But he still took it upon himself to praise Sunderland after the contest.
Sunderland supporters now appear keen to see Maddison recruited, as he could add to their attack next season.
Maddison has been linked with Sunderland for a number of seasons now, and was valued at around £2.5 million last summer – according to the Nottingham Post.
Sunderland’s draw with Posh yesterday is likely to have ended their hopes of automatic promotion, with a place in the play offs now looking most likely for Jack Ross’ side.
