Barry Ferguson has tipped Rangers' Alfredo Morelos to pip Celtic's Callum McGregor to the Player of the Year award.
Nine points behind Celtic and eliminated from the Scottish Cup, Rangers are set to finish this season without a trophy.
But Morelos, who has 29 goals this season, might well pick up some silverware for himself in the form of individual prizes.
The 'outstanding' Celtic midfielder represents the Colombian hitman's biggest threat to the award, but Gers legend Ferguson tips the Ibrox marksman to win it.
He told PLZ Soccer: "Morelos, 29 goals this season, I know he’s had his problems on the pitch with the sending offs and bookings, but for me, I think he will win it.
“Callum McGregor is an outstanding midfielder, he can play the holding role, he can play number 10, he can play on the left side, he can even fill in at left-back."
Despite his disciplinary problems, Morelos probably has been the most impressive player from August until now.
The former HJK Helsinki striker, handed a four-game ban for his red card at Celtic last month, would have quite comfortably exceeded the 30-goal barrier this season if not for various suspensions.
His Gers team-mate Ryan Kent could also be in the mix, as could Hoops star James Forrest.
