Liverpool were awarded a spot kick late in the match at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday evening.
Sean Morrison was adjudged to have brought down Mohamed Salah inside the Bluebirds’ penalty box, and James Milner did not make any mistake in converting the resulting spot kick.
Georginio Wijnaldum had scored the Merseyside outfit’s opening goal in the 57th minute, as the Reds won 2-0.
Tottenham legend Lineker was following the match, and he believes that it was a penalty.
The former England international striker has also predicted the Premier League title race to be decided to the final day of the season.
The 2-0 win against Cardiff at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday evening means that Liverpool are now at the top of the Premier League table with 88 points from 35 matches, two points clear of second-placed and defending champions Manchester City - who will take on Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.
It was a penalty for me. Can’t really see how you could think otherwise.....but you will, of course.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) April 21, 2019
