Tottenham Hotspur have announced that their upcoming Premier League fixture away at Bournemouth has been rescheduled following their progress in the Champions League.

The fixture was initially moved to Monday 6 May for live television coverage, but with the potential for further schedule changes depending on how Spurs did in Europe.

With Tottenham having reached the semi-finals of the Champions League following their epic tie against Manchester City, the trip to the Vitality Stadium has reverted back to Saturday 4 May.

“The match will remain live on Sky Sports with kickoff time to be confirmed,” Spurs, who face Ajax at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday 30 April and travel to Amsterdam on Wednesday 8 May, added in the statement on their website.

The announcement comes a few days after the Dutch FA moved an entire round of Eredivisie fixtures to accomodate Ajax’s progress to the latter stages of the Champions League (Reuters).

Here is how some of the Lilywhites faithful reacted on Twitter to the club’s statement and tweet:

The Tottenham fixture is one of several games that has been rescheduled, with Liverpool originally due to visit Newcastle on Sunday 5 May but that fixture also having been moved to the previous day.

Likewise, Chelsea and Arsenal’s matches have also been moved back a day after both progressed to the Europa League semi-finals, with the two legs to be played on 2 and 9 May (BBC Sport).
