Neil Lennon has surely aced his audition.
Celtic are on the lookout for a new full-time manager after Brendan Rodgers defected to take over at Leicester City two months ago and Lennon, since returning to Parkhead on a short-term, interim contract, could hardly have done much more to suggest he deserves the keys to the Hoops machine.
Not only has Lennon guided Celtic to the verge of the title, he has also masterminded their run to the Scottish Cup final as an unprecedented treble-treble inches closer to reality.
But, according to the Mirror (17 April, page 55), it is far from guaranteed that Lennon will be in the dugout next season.
Celtic are also running the rule over David Wagner with the report claiming that his man-management style, high-tempo footballing philosophy and ability to hone and improve young players has caught their eye.
But the German’s reputation has suffered since walking out of Huddersfield Town in January when they were cut adrift at the bottom of the Premier League table. No wonder some supporters are a little suspicious.
I’m not sure about Wagner, a poor season with huddersfield then straight into a season with 9iar at stake? I think if I had to choose between him and Lenny, it would be Lenny. What’s your thoughts?— CELTIC.OK (@OkCeltic) April 17, 2019
Not saying Wagner wouldn't be a decent appointment but without Webber there or someone like him I don't think it'd work out as well as we'd think.— Jamie (@Jamie67_) April 17, 2019

I’d rather have lennon than wagner.— Muiry (@MuiryCeltic) April 17, 2019
