Rigby has featured for Leeds United's under-18s already and will play in that age group next season, with the potential aim of making the under-23 squad.
Leeds' academy is thriving again, with the under-18s winning their division last season and the under-23s this campaign.
Several of the youngsters have stepped up to make Marcelo Bielsa's first team.
Rigby first signed for Leeds' academy when he was just nine-years-old back in 2012, the York Press report, and is now 16.
Rigby's dad Ian played for York City's academy but didn't turn pro. Maximus is hoping to go one better.
