Dejan Lovren may have endured an incredibly frustrating season with Liverpool, but the Liverpool Echo is reporting that the Reds have no plans to sell the defender in the summer transfer window.
Lovren has been a fairly peripheral figure at Anfield this term. The former Southampton man has made just 11 Premier League appearances and will miss the second-leg of the Champions League tie with Porto on Wednesday night.
With the 29-year-old struggling to silence all of his critics when he was fit, fans would probably not be surprised if Jurgen Klopp was intrigued by the recent suggestion that three Serie A sides - Roma, AC Milan and Napoli (via Daily Mirror) - wanted the defender in the summer.
When Lovren is playing well, it is not difficult to see why Liverpool would want to keep him amongst the squad. He may not be on Virgil van Dijk's level and Joe Gomez will soon surpass him, but he could have still a role to play if he stays fit.
However, fitness has proved to be an issue this season. And given that his form has fluctuated during his time with the Reds, there are likely to be plenty of fans urging the club to cash in if one of the Italian outfits make a tempting offer during the summer.
