Newcastle United will reportedly be without Florian Lejeune until October.
Several Newcastle fans have responded to Florian Lejeune after the defender posted an injury update on Twitter, confirming that the operation on his knee went well.
The Chronicle reports that the Magpies are set to be without Lejeune until October after he sustained an injury in the defeat to Crystal Palace at St James’ Park earlier this month.
Lejeune has had a rotten run of luck with injury since arriving on Tyneside in 2017. He did not make his first appearance of the season until January, and is now set to return to action once next season is a couple of months old.
The 27-year-old would be forgiven for being devastated about the latest setback. But he has been given some positive news, which he has quickly passed on to the Toon Army on social media.
Lejeune confirmed on Twitter that his operation on his knee was a success. He sent a defiant message as he promised to return stronger, while he also thanked the surgeon.
And in response, plenty of Newcastle supporters have expressed their hope that Lejeune’s comeback goes to plan. He is an incredibly popular member of the squad, and the fans remain in no doubt that the squad will be much stronger once he is back.
Here is Lejeune’s tweet, as well as some of the best responses…
