Manchester United fans want Ashley Young to return to Aston Villa, after his latest display.
Former Villa man Young has taken on board a great deal of criticism this season, and his performance in the Champions League last night did little to get the Old Trafford crowd off his back.
Indeed, there are now many United fans who want to see Young return to his old club, Villa, and join Dean Smith’s side.
A Villa fan mate says they'd take Ashley Young back. Obviously he doesn't make those sort of decisions on behalf of his club, but I have it in writing so we should try and hold them to it @ManUtd— Malcolm Eczema (@Deanzor) April 17, 2019
Do Aston Villa have a buy back clause for Young?— (@SudipSan) April 16, 2019

I was being careful criticising Ashley Young but today sums up who he has turned into... He needs to terminate the one year given to him and go back to Aston Villa #BARMUN— Natsz (@NatsAwuapila) April 16, 2019
Young time you go back to villa— KyleFoad (@KyleFoad) April 16, 2019
United were beaten 3-0 by Barcelona last night, with Young at fault for the first goal that his side conceded.
Whether Villa would be open to taking Young back, if a deal was offered, is up for debate.
Smith is keen to bring in youth at Villa, but Young is still fondly remembered at Villa Park.
The 33-year-old left Villa back in 2011 to join the Red Devils, and he has gone on to make 238 appearances for United.
If Young was to join Villa he would offer Smith’s side an option in defence or midfield, but affording his wages would be a test for the Midlands club.
