Marco Silva's Everton side are said to be interested in snapping up David Neres from Ajax.

David Neres may be taking himself out of Everton’s reach through his performances in the Champions League this season.

The Telegraph have reported how Everton want to take Neres from Ajax in the summer in a £35 million deal.

However, the Toffees may well be fighting a losing battle now, as Neres’ profile is just increasing by the game.

Ajax made it through in the Champions League last night by beating Juventus, and Neres played a starring role in the contest.

The Brazilian has already been linked to some of Europe’s biggest sides, and his display last night only served to increase the hype around him.

Everton are expected to have money to spend in the summer, but it’s still unlikely that they will be able to compete with some of Europe’s giants.

And Everton may well have to devise a back-up plan to Neres now, as he is likely to have bigger offers than the Goodison Park club can offer in the summer.
