Atlus’ and Persona 5’s leader of the Phantom Thieves, Joker, is joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and his arrival comes with music and Mii costumes from Persona 3 and 4.
There were concerns earlier in the month that Joker’s arrival had been delayed, but Nintendo has confirmed in a 16-minute showcase that the Phantom Thief is making his Super Smash Bros. Ultimate debut on April 18.
The video confirms that Joker’s arena is Mementos (as was already leaked in a datamine) and that Morgana will appear when taunting.
Joker also comes with a gun and a grappling hook, and his only Persona is the invincible Arsene.
In addition to all this, Joker has a variety of alternate costumes that make him resemble Dante, Vergil, and Crow, and there is music from Persona 5, 4 and 3.
The included tracks are:
- Last Surprise
- Beneath The Mask
- Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There
- Our Beginning
- Rivers In The Desert
- Reach Out To The Truth
- Time To Make History (my favourite)
- I’ll Face Myself
- Mass Destruction
- Battle Hymn Of The Soul
There will also be Mii costumes such as a Morgana and Teddie Hat, along with the Persona 3 and 4 protagonists as Mii fighters to download separately.
The Challenger Pack 1 featuring Joker, Mementos, and the Persona series music can be purchased for $5.99. That or players can purchase the Fighters Pass for $24.99 to get access to Joker and the other four upcoming DLC combatants.
