Several West Ham fans are adamant that Nathan Holland deserves his chance for the first-team after the midfielder scored an outstanding solo goal in the under-23s' 2-2 draw with Derby County on Monday night.
Holland - who signed from Everton in 2017 - has arguably long been considered one of the more exciting prospects in the Irons' youth team, but injury had previously threatened to derail his push to get back into the senior side.
But the 20-year-old has been really impressive in recent weeks. And he perhaps could not have sent a stronger message to Manuel Pellegrini than he did on Monday as he scored a stunning goal to equalise in the draw.
Holland ran in from the left wing and danced through the Derby defence - who, admittedly, will not be happy with their defending - before showing the composure to find the back of the net.
It was his second goal in Premier League 2 this term, while he has also provided six assists this season. And plenty of supporters are now convinced that he should get a first-team chance before the campaign concludes.
Manuel Pellegrini has shown a willingness to pick youngsters this season. And with the Hammers facing an uphill battle to get back into the top-half of the table and in no danger of being involved in the relegation scrap, some feel that throwing Holland in could prove an inspired move - with one fan even making a comparison with Ryan Giggs.
Here is how some of the West Ham supporters reacted to Holland's latest performance...

Time to give this fella a go on the wing! Your classic skilful winger who takes people on! Nothing to lose, especially with Lanzini now out https://t.co/DwD5YfXG3C— ExWHUemployee (@ExWHUemployee) April 15, 2019

Body movement and finish in this video reminds me of Ryan Giggs. If his half as good as him we need to give him some minutes soon.— Russell Hardy (@Rhardy1992) April 15, 2019
