The two will meet on Wednesday night in the Champions League, with Spurs knowing that if they can avoid defeat in the second-leg encounter at the Etihad then they will progress through to the semi-finals.
Guardiola has been a serial winner since he first walked the touchlines of Barcelona over 10 years ago and he will be looking to add more trophies to his cabinet this term.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference, as broadcast on Sky Sports News (16/04/2019 4:40 pm), Pochettino spoke honestly about Guardiola and his trophy haul.
"I don't remember, sorry if I am wrong, but I think he has won 25 or 26 trophies or 24? I am not sure. I don't really remember," Pochettino told Sky Sports News. "I think he is one of the most successful managers, for sure. There is not another like him.
"Of course, for me to win a title with Tottenham is a massive dream, but to win 25, I am not sure. It's more than a dream for any manager and coach in the world. What he is doing in Barcelona, Bayern and now Manchester City is unbelievable. He is showing his quality."
At this moment in time, Guardiola is one course to win four trophies at City, with the League Cup in the bag, a place in the FA Cup final already booked, one game away from the Champions League semi-final and they are also hot on the heels of current Premier League title leaders Liverpool.
Spurs boss Pochettino will also be hoping to make history at Tottenham and registering his first trophy at the club as they are in the driving seat to reach the last four of the European Cup.
Heung-Min Son was the difference-maker in the first leg and he will be hoping to make his mark again at the Etihad as Pochettino and his players will come up against a wave of attacking talent.
