Not since Jack Clarke has there been such a buzz around an under-23 starlet awaiting his first-team debut at Leeds like the one surrounding Mateusz Bogusz currently.
The January signing is being tipped by many to be one of Victor Orta's most inspired buys. And while the Whites' director of football has not got everything right since arriving at Elland Road, there can be no doubt that his work on recruiting players for the under-23 ranks has been exceptional.
Bogusz's stock seems to be rising with every appearance, with his latest outing seeing the Poland youth international score a superb goal in a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.
He is perhaps unfortunate that Leeds' first-team find themselves in such a fantastic position in the Championship with four games remaining. Marcelo Bielsa's loyalty to his players makes predicting his starting lineups over the coming weeks a lot easier. But perhaps, that does not need to rule Bogusz out entirely.
The likes of Jordan Stevens, Leif Davis and Jamie Shackleton have regularly been included on the bench this season, and you get the feeling that Bielsa would have absolutely no problem using them if the senior player in their position was taken off for any reason.
With Bogusz's confidence likely to be sky high right now after his latest goal, Bielsa should seriously consider handing him a spot on the bench for Friday's home clash with Wigan Athletic.
In an ideal world for Leeds, the Whites would not need to call upon the teenager and he could just use the call-up as an opportunity to learn. But if he is called upon, there is no reason why he could not make an impact.
And if Bogusz does get on the field, and does manage to make something special happen, then Leeds fans will have yet another player who can make them believe that this is their year.
