Southampton fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Liverpool-owned forward Danny Ings against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.
Ings, signed on a season-long loan deal from Premier League in the summer of 2018, was in action for Southampton in their 3-1 victory over Wolves at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The 26-year-old former Burnley forward started the match and played for 61 minutes.
The England international provided the assist for one of Nathan Redmond’s goals, and he also set up a very good chance for Josh Sims.
According to WhoScored, against Wolves on Saturday afternoon, Ings provided one assist, had a pass accuracy of 80%, made two tackles and one interception, and played three key passes.
So far this season, the forward has made 19 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Saints, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
According to Sky Sports, Southampton will pay Liverpool a transfer fee of £18 million in order to secure the services of Ings on a permanent contract in the summer of 2019.

Ings looked a little lethargic and off the pace to me.— Glenn Jones (@MrGlennJones) April 14, 2019
Very pacey. Well impressed with Ings passing range and ability tbf— (@we8pompey84) April 13, 2019
Wonderful pace and style of through ball. Made it look easy and wolves stood off at times but still a useful skill and decent other team attributes despite, as you say, not being match fit— Ba81 (@BePositive81) April 14, 2019
Ings, Sims and Redmond, barring injury, need to be the front three for the rest of the year. Not a great performance and Vestergaard looks especially wobbly, but I'll take it. If things stay as they are, Saints are as good as safe.— Hugh Jampton (@tonkerthomas) April 13, 2019
Very good half. Worried about the lapses in concentration at the back, but very glad to see Ings, Sims and Redmond working brilliantly as a three. Let's secure the three points and put some distance between us and the bottom three! COYR #SaintsFC— Fresh Saints (@FreshSaints) April 13, 2019
