Some Leeds United fans on Twitter were impressed with the performance of Chelsea-owned central defender Michael Hector for Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road at the weekend, and Marcelo Bielsa should keep tabs on him.
Hector joined Wednesday on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Chelsea in the summer of 2018.
Hector grew into the match, and although it was not his best performance of the season at Elland Road, some Leeds fans were impressed, as shown in the posts on Twitter below.
According to WhoScored, the 26-year-old had a pass accuracy of 50%, won two headers, and made two tackles, five interceptions and two clearances.
So far this season, the defender has made 32 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for the Owls, scoring one goal in the process, according to WhoScored.
Hector - who earns £17,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com - is scheduled to go back to his parent club Chelsea at the end of the season, and perhaps Leeds head coach Bielsa should keep tabs on the defender.
Signing the 26-year-old on loan for the 2019-20 campaign or even for the first half of next season will be a good idea for Leeds (although Chelsea may want to sell him as his current contract runs out next summer), irrespective of which division they are in.
Thought Wednesday were good yesterday, really gave a good go till fitness gave out. Hector looks quality, strong, athletic good on ball. Bielsa would get massive improvement from him. No idea if he’s his type of player. #lufc #swfc #Bielsa— Richard (@TooEllandBack) April 14, 2019
