Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs are reportedly prepared to pay £17m to bring Fenerbahce’s Super Lig starlet Elif Elmas to the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur scouts were in attendance as transfer target Elif Elmas found the net in the Istanbul derby between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray on Sunday, as reported by Fotomac.

The 19-year-old Macedonian midfielder is arguably the most exciting young talent currently plying his trade in Turkish football and he only enhanced his reputation further when his Fenerbahce side hosted their bitter local rivals over the weekend.

Elmas cancelled out a goal from Everton loanee Henry Onyekuru to secure a point for the hosts, lifting the ball into the top corner after a perfectly timed late burst into the penalty area.

That was just Elmas’s second league goal of the campaign.

And, according to Fotomac, scouts from Spurs were there to see him in action while Lazio and Fiorentina were also present to run the rule over a teenager who has ten international caps to his name already.

SuperHaber claimed just last week that Tottenham were prepared to pay £17 million to bring Elmas to North London and their belief that he could be a future star will only have been strengthened by another match-changing performance from a player whose name translates, quite fittingly, as ‘Diamond’.
