Liverpool are one of three clubs reportedly interested in signing the Bayer Leverkusen winger.
According to a report from German media outlet Bild, Liverpool are prepared to meet Bayer Leverkusen ace Julian Brandt's €25 million (£21.5 million) release clause this summer, although they will face competition from Real Madrid and Juventus for his signature.
The 22-year-old's release clause will come into effect if Leverkusen fail to qualify for the Champions League this season, and with seven points separating them and fourth placed Eintracht Frankfurt with only five games remaining, their hopes of doing just that are fading fast.
Liverpool have one of the most dangerous front-lines in world football, but it could be argued that Jürgen Klopp needs to add more top class competition to his attacking department, in order to keep his current front three on their toes.
And Brandt could be just the man for the job at Anfield.
He is quick along the ground, possesses excellent technical ability, and has a keen eye for goal.
German news outlet Bild claims that Liverpool will have to battle Real Madrid and Juventus for his signature this summer, so they will certainly not have things all their own way.
Should the Merseyside outfit manage to sign him for just £21.5 million, however, it could end up being a real coup for the football club.
