Glasgow Rangers chairman Dave King has issued a rallying cry to supporters hailing the team's progress this season under Steven Gerrard.
Rangers are on course to finish in second place for the first time since their promotion to the top flight.
He is hopeful the fans at Ibrox will soon have trophies to cheer, although Rangers' chances have passed for this season.
Praising Gerrard's team, King believes they are not far off from challenging more forcefully.
It is his comment that Rangers are close to 'dominating' once again which has really caught the eye.
King is quoted by STV: "It was never going to be easy and it is extremely gratifying to have witnessed the progress that has been made over the last year.
"We are now within tangible reach of Rangers becoming the dominant force in Scottish football again.
"Much of the progress on the pitch can be attributed to Mark Allen, Steven Gerrard and their respective management teams. Turning to a young manager was a risk but it was one that Mark and the board felt we should take because of Steven Gerrard's football pedigree."
The pressure is on Gerrard and Rangers to take another step forward next season.
Rivals Celtic are in transition as they look to appoint a new permanent manager in the summer.
There has been a mixed reaction to King's comments...
I'm a Rangers fan, but the delusion from King here is ridiculous, still a long way to go to get any sort of cup win never mind dominance.— Stephen something (@Rellim1977) April 15, 2019
I wish he'd just keep quiet with this stuff. The season tickets will sell anyway without this sort of chat— Govanite (@pauarmst) April 15, 2019

Can’t disagree with that. Well said Dave— super ally (@rangers_da) April 15, 2019
I’d rather he didn’t come out with this kind of sound bite as it just adds pressure & let’s others know our thinking. Just focus on doing his bit to support Gerrard & the team then retrospectively come out after the fact & say things like this.— Bear from the North (@Northernger) April 15, 2019
No we aren't.— Cairo Kearney (@Cairo1872) April 15, 2019
Season tickets must be due for renewal— Colin Mathie (@madnutter0102) April 15, 2019
Wish Dave King would keep quiet at times, to say we’re close to being the dominant force in Scottish Football when Celtic are heading towards a treble treble & 8 in a row is laughable at best. Yes we’ve improved but still some way off of being the best imo.— David Nimmo (@Nimsay1872) April 15, 2019
