Everton midfielder Andre Gomes is reportedly attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Paul Merson has claimed that Everton midfielder Andre Gomes is a player suited to Tottenham Hotspur as he pointed out how the loan market could be benefiting the London club.
The 25-year-old is on a season-long loan from Spanish giants Barcelona and he has produced a number of good displays on Merseyside since his summer arrival.
The Telegraph recently claimed that Spurs are willing to pay £30 million for Gomes’ services in the summer and snatch the player from under Everton’s noses.
Speaking to Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports News (13/04/2019 at 2:50 pm), Merson made reference to those links and spoke about Gomes as a player in general.
“I like him [Gomes],” Merson told Soccer Saturday. “There is talk of Tottenham coming in for him for £30 million. Again, this is what happens, you have a couple of good games and other teams look at the loan situation and think ‘Oh, he’s only on loan, I’ll take him’. He’s a Tottenham player… He’s a Tottenham player!
Jeff Stelling then tells Merson: “Evertonians will tell you, he’s an Everton player!”.
“And rightly so,” Merson responded. “He’s there now and if he keeps on getting the confidence, but he does get brought off now and again when he isn’t playing too well. He’s not one of them players who you field the team around. You don’t feel that he’s the star man.”

Whilst Gomes hasn’t set the world alight for his inconsistent Everton team, he has shown enough to prove that he is good enough to play for a Champions League club.
At this moment in time, Marco Silva’s side aren’t at that stage, but the hope from the supporters is that they are able to sign players like Gomes to help them push for a European spot in the near future.
During Gomes’ last encounter, the Barcelona loanee played the full 90 minutes as his side suffered a 2-0 defeat at already-relegated Fulham.
