The relegation threatened Latics produced one of their best performances of the season on Sunday as they held Championship leaders Norwich City to a 1-1 draw at the DW Stadium.
The Canaries were pushed to the limit by a resilient display from Paul Cook’s side and were indebted to a late equaliser from Golden Boot-chasing Finland international Teemu Pukki. Wigan could have snatched all three points too, though Leon Clarke’s stoppage time header was ruled out for offside.
Needless to say, Wigan will be hoping to build on this performance when they travel to Elland Road on Good Friday – and Evans has warned his team-mates that they cannot take their foot off the gas.
"We have to translate our home performances into the remaining two away games, it's been far too long,” said Evans, with the Latics just two points above Rotherham United in the relegation zone.
"We can't press teams and play like this against Norwich and then turn up at Leeds and just fold."
Leeds are now clear of Sheffield United in second and can smell the top of the table too, sitting just four points adrift of Norwich with a handful of games remaining in what has been another thrilling Championship campaign.
