Jamie Redknapp has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur winger Lucas Moura is not guaranteed a start against Manchester City this week despite his brilliant performance at the weekend, as quoted in The Daily Mail.
The Brazil international winger was the star of the show for Tottenham on Saturday afternoon, as the 26-year-old scored a stunning hat-trick in the North London club’s 4-0 victory over Huddersfield Town at White Hart Lane in the Premier League.
Spurs are back in action on Wednesday evening when they take on Premier League rivals City away from home at the Etihad Stadium in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.
Former Tottenham midfielder Redknapp has suggested that Moura may not get to start for Spurs against City on Wednesday evening.
The Daily Mail quotes Redknapp as saying about Moura: “Absolutely you can still leave him out. You really can.
“You’re not holding him back, you’re not dropping him on Wednesday, you’re saying to him, I’ve got a specialised situation where with 20 minutes to go I might need to unleash you and I don’t know but he looks like the sort of guy who would buy into that.”
Moura has made 20 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham so far this season, scoring 10 goals in the process, according to WhoScored.
