Craig Beattie has claimed that the rejuvenated James Forrest will be 'hot on the lips' of other teams in the summer after he helped Celtic to a 3-0 win over Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday.

The Sky Sports pundit lauded the player Forrest has become as he will be hoping to guide his team to a historic treble-treble at the end of the season.

Forrest opened the scoring at Hampden with a vicious strike from outside of the area, with the Dons eventually being reduced to nine men in what was a hotly-contested encounter.

Speaking to Football Centre on Sky Sports News (15/04/2019 at 12:45 pm), Beattie spoke about Forrest's achievements and he expects there to be some interest in him in the summer.

"James is a fabulous player for club and country," Beattie told Sky Sports News. "He's been here for a number of years and got 15 medals. It just shows the calibre he has got. Also, he's now got the experience for someone who's not an old player.

On being surprised that no-one has come in to try and steal him away: "His stats are really, really good. His appearances are good. A couple of seasons ago there were some fitness concerns.

"The summer transfer window is fast approaching. I think James Forrest will be hot on the lips of a number of teams. Having said that, James has probably not indicated to his team that he wants to leave."
