Atlus’ Persona 5 The Royal won’t have a simultaneous worldwide release

Persona 5 Ren Bruised

According to the latest rumours, Atlus' Persona 5 The Royal will not have a simultaneous worldwide release.

Atlus will be unveiling Persona 5 The Royal very soon, but when it eventually launches it apparently won’t have a simultaneous worldwide release.

Atlus briefly revealed Persona 5 The Royal through a teaser that had everyone jumping to conclusions about a female MC.

Since then, the studio has also announced Persona 5 S; a mysterious game that is said to star “new Phantom Thieves”.

Persona 5 The Royal will presumably launch in 2019, but it won’t have a simultaneous worldwide release according to the latest rumours.

Persona 5 Intro

Gear Nuke has apparently acquired insider information about Persona 5 The Royal. According to the site’s anonymous sources, Persona 5 The Royal is – as expected – an extended cut similar to Persona 4: Golden.

It will supposedly have new Personas and Social Links, “a very lengthy new epilogue,” and a “ton of new content.”

It will also be a PlayStation 4 exclusive, and it’ll star a female MC who isn’t the girl from the trailer (perhaps the ponytailed “female Joker” referenced in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate datamines).

While this is all very exciting, fans will understandably be disheartened by the likelihood of it not having a simultaneous worldwide release.

This was expected with Persona 5, Catherine: Full Body, and Persona Q2 all being released in Japan first, but it’s still a shame that western players will likely have to wait six months or longer to finally play the highly-anticipated extension.
