Several Sheffield United fans believe that Chris Wilder's men need to start preparing for the play-offs after a dramatic day in the Championship saw Leeds move three points clear of the Blades in the automatic-promotion race.
With Leeds playing Sheffield Wednesday in the evening, Wilder's side - who started the day one point behind - had the chance to put some real pressure on as they hosted Millwall at Bramall Lane earlier on in the afternoon.
They did move into second, but only on goal difference as the Lions scored a 95th minute equaliser, having already missed a penalty in the latter stages.
And Leeds took full advantage as they produced a superb performance against the Owls at Elland Road. Jack Harrison scored the only goal shortly after the hour mark to ensure that the Whites sit three points clear with four games remaining.
With Sheffield United's goal difference slightly better than Leeds', it could well turn around in one game once again. But for many Blades fans, the writing feels as though it is being written on the wall.
They have won one of their four games since beating Leeds at Elland Road and have thrown away leads in their last two fixtures. And with Leeds taking nine points out of 12 since Chris Basham settled that contest before the international break, many fear that the Whites will consign them to a spot in the play-offs.
Here is how some of the Sheffield United fans reacted to Leeds' win...
I know that draw hurts, but it feels like everyone has now written off top 2. A better goal difference and 3 points off Leeds with 4 games to go... Wilder and his team won’t have written this off so there’s no way our fans should #sufc #weareblades #wegoagain— Andrew Wells (@wellsy_10) April 13, 2019
I didn’t enjoy any of that match today. We haven’t been the same since Villa to be fair, didn’t deserve to win that match today. Yes we still have a chance but think it’ll probably go to Leeds now, keep going and get back to being us. #sufc #twitterblades ⚪️⚪️— Justin Rice (@JustyRice3) April 13, 2019
Yes there could still be some more twists and turns but being honest we haven’t been good enough for a few games now and Leeds are looking stronger every game ...— Blue Portal Telecom (@blueportaluk) April 13, 2019
At least we won’t be playing the filth in the playoffs #sufc
Leeds have won all 20 games they’ve taken the lead in this season, that’s the big difference between us and them this season, we throw away far too many points from winning positions #sufc #twitterblades— Chopper (@joe_chopper) April 13, 2019
4 games left, #SUFC need 4 wins & Leeds need to lose 1 or draw 2. I honestly can’t see us winning all 4 & can only really see Leeds dropping points against Villa. Leeds getting stronger & stronger with Roofe back & us bottling it with injuries left, right & centre. It’s gone imo.— Aaron Outram (@azzle94) April 13, 2019
Stand by what Ive said all season. Leeds have the best side in the division. We lack a quality player who can change a game in an instant when needed. Stands out a mile. Twists n turns though yet ⚔️ #sufc #lufc— Russell Smith (@smiffy2609) April 13, 2019
For what it’s worth, I still think another twist is more than possible. It’s 3 points with a better goal difference. Far from over. But there’s no getting away from it - this is Leeds’ weekend (& they knew how to see out a 1-0 lead ((against inferior opposition)) very well) #sufc— Jamie Fletcher (@FletchRadio) April 13, 2019
Having Ipswich last game, we are technically 6 points behind Leeds. It’s the playoffs. #sufc— AP (@cbtonr) April 13, 2019
