Sam Byram, on loan from West Ham United, was in action for Nottingham Forest against Blackburn Rovers.
Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of West Ham United-owned defender Sam Byram against Blackburn Rovers.
Byram, signed on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club West Ham in the summer of 2018, was in action for Forest in their Championship game against Blackburn at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.
The former Leeds United right-back started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the Reds lost 2-1.
The 25-year-old played well for Forest and slotted in well at the back, and the West Ham-owned defender’s performance was very encouraging.
According to WhoScored, against Blackburn on Saturday afternoon, Byram had a pass accuracy of 81.6%, made four tackles, four interceptions and four clearances, and played two key passes.
It was the former Leeds star’s only third appearance of the season in the Championship, as he has been suffering with a knee injury.
Forest players were impressed with the performance of Byram and have praised him on Twitter.

Byram planted that cross on cashy’s head. That should of been dispatched comfortably.— Richard Elliott (@elliott4sho) April 14, 2019
Appiah again not ready for this level, couldn’t get in game. Byram looks quality at right back and I hope we can keep him next season. #nffc— Thomas Payne (@trickytrees12) April 13, 2019
#NFFC – was at the game today but still trying to work out how Matty Cash got MOTM – actually not good enough. Think MON is right to experiment – we need to identify the players that are good enough. For me Colback, Grabban, Byram, Yates & Appiah I’d keep – the rest can all go— welchy19 (@19welchy) April 13, 2019
.@BBCRNS Play-off hopes already gone but disappointed not to get something from it. Only came to life at 2-1, pressed for an equaliser. Less direct today despite scoring from a long throw. Shame Byram’s error lead to a goal as he did well, as did Appiah.#NFFC— Matt Love (@1MattLove) April 13, 2019
What’s criminal here is that Colback and Byram won’t want to move here permanently in the summer #NFFC— Craig (@Craig74Davies) April 13, 2019
Sam Byram is a damn good player. He’s a class above this league for sure #NFFC— Egor The Red (@EgorTheRed) April 13, 2019
i’m going to be positive.— ross 128 b (@coffndrop) April 13, 2019
good to see yates and appiah establishing themselves.
i have been impressed with pele and byram – i’d really consider keeping both of them. only big disappointments today are pantilimon and grabban. both very static.#nffc
